Universal Works Cardigan - Black Wool Fleece

Wool fleece cardigan in black, boxy fit, five-button front, four pockets. Been in the Universal Works line long enough that calling it a classic is accurate rather than lazy. The curved V-neck and cotton rib at the cuffs and hem keep it from reading as purely utilitarian, while the patch pockets and self-bound placket pull it back toward workwear. Sits somewhere useful between a heavy knit and a light jacket.

The fabric is the same 65:35 wool and recycled polyester blend as the Field Jacket, knitted rather than woven, soft without being precious. Warm enough to wear as an outer layer into October, light enough to go under a coat from November onwards. Black makes it the easiest version to reach for.

Delicate wash at 30 degrees. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Cool iron. Can be dry cleaned.
