Wool fleece field jacket in navy, relaxed fit, four-button front, three patch pockets. The Field Jacket sits looser and chunkier than the Bakers: more room through the body, a boxier shoulder, worn over thicker layers without fighting them. The fabric is a 65/35 wool and recycled polyester blend, knitted rather than woven, so it has a softness and give that a cotton twill doesn't. Warm without weight, the kind of jacket that earns its place from October through to April.
The pocket reinforcement stitching is a small detail that matters more than it sounds. Patch pockets on a wool fabric take a lot of strain at the corners. The stitching there is functional, not decorative, and it shows up well against the navy ground.
